What We Believe
I believe that the best way to learn music is with one-on-one, private instruction. Each lesson is tailored individually, for the way the student learns best. I take into account age, experience, personality, and learning style. I teach ages 9 - adult!   It's never "too late" to learn how to play music.

One-on-one attention
Students in private lessons are able to learn the type of music they personally are most interested in.  Achieving the right sound is important, but I  also ensure that hand positioning, posture, and the understanding of a particular concept are correct as well.  I offer 30 minute, 45 minute, and 1 hour lessons.  

My school is equipped to offer music lessons for students of all ages and abilities, from beginners to very advanced students.  And, I  offer every style of lessons from classical to jazz and pop.  ​​Stuck in doors? Got you covered! Skype,Zoom and Face-time lessons available.

WHAT WILL I LEARN IN MUSIC LESSONS?
Every student is an individual, with personal musical needs and goals. With that in mind, I make it a priority to tailor how I teach and what I teach to your individual needs.

If you enroll here for lessons, I will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child. Together, we will develop a plan to achieve your goals! Because I  love beginners, I can help you even when you don't know what you want or where to begin!

WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC CAN I LEARN?
I teach all styles from rock, pop, jazz, country, worship, blues and classical. I combine the important fundamentals with the music YOU want to play. With my expertise, we can find music that is the best match for YOU.    

ARE YOU QUALIFIED?
Yes.  I am highly qualified with 22 years of teaching experience, and most importantly, I have a passion  for teaching. I consider it a great privilege and honor to work with  your student and be a part of their musical journey!

In addition to my teaching credentials, I  have a warm personality, am extremely friendly, and work at  getting to know each student and their parent on a personal level. I work hard at being the best teacher in Herndon, so you  can always know you're child is getting the best lessons possible.  

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO LEARN AN INSTRUMENT?
There is no set answer of how long it takes to learn an instrument. With regular practice, a basic level of playing can be accomplished in a few months. Most of my students take lessons on a long term basis because they want to be constantly improving and they find the lessons enjoyable.

I DON’T HAVE ANY MUSICAL BACKGROUND OR ABILITY. CAN I STILL HELP MY CHILD PRACTICE? 
Yes. Even if you don't have a musical background you can ask me for advice on how to help your child practice. By simply monitoring that they are doing exercises a certain number of times per day the student will progress. Parents will occasionally sit in on their child's music lesson to get an idea of the proper way a song should sound or how the student should be positioning their hands.
